In Q3 2021, the Middle East saw notable performances from the top communication apps on the Android platform. Data from Sensor Tower highlights trends in downloads and active users for WhatsApp Messenger, Telegram, Snapchat, Messenger, and WhatsApp Business.

WhatsApp Messenger experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 97K in late June and peaking at around 116K by mid-September. Active users fluctuated slightly but ended the quarter on an upward trend, from 25.9M to nearly 26M.

Telegram also saw growth in downloads, beginning with 82K in early July and rising to about 120K by the end of September. Active users increased from 7.7M to over 8.2M, showing consistent engagement throughout the quarter.

Snapchat maintained a solid performance in weekly downloads, fluctuating between 84K and 109K. Active users showed a slight decline from 9.4M in late June to about 9.5M by the end of September. Revenue saw varied peaks, with the highest being $185 in late July.

Messenger had a steady download rate, starting at 79K and peaking at around 99K in mid-July. Active users remained relatively stable, ending the quarter at approximately 13.6M. Revenue peaked in early September at $581, showing a notable increase compared to other weeks.

WhatsApp Business saw consistent growth in downloads, from 77K in late June to a peak of 90K by the end of September. Active users steadily increased from 3.1M to nearly 3.4M, indicating growing usage among businesses.
